Pamela Christensen “Chris” Cox, 70, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2022, in her Gulf Breeze home in Florida. Her husband and other family members were at her side. A celebration of this extraordinary life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, Webster, TX. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Lung Association or a charity of your choice.
Chris was born May 5, 1951, in New London, Connecticut, to Wayland R. Sr., and Eleanor A. Christensen.
Chris was a brilliant woman who was an avid reader. She enjoyed knitting, watching action-packed movies and documentaries. Other hobbies included playing the flute, painting and shopping for American Brilliant cut glass.
While working toward a Master’s degree in Educational Administration at the University of Houston, Clear Lake, she did extensive research and published several articles in educational journals in the US and she was also published in European Law reviews. Later in her career Chris created her own consulting company (Cox Educational Consultants). She and staff traveled to school districts and conducted staff development activities to improve classroom instruction.
She worked 30 years in the field of education, then Chris retired and moved with her husband to Helen, GA (Northeast Georgia Mountains). This past year Chris and Larry moved to Florida to be closer to family. After beating the odds with COVID, Chris' health declined even more due to preexisting health issues.
Chris will be remembered for inspiring others with her wisdom, knowledge, and her inner strength. Chris' personality alone made it easy to befriend her. As a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she loved and was loved by all unconditionally. Being the influential person Chris was, she touched many hearts and will be missed.
Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Wayland R. Sr., and Eleanor A. Christensen, siblings Karen Hogan, Janet Christensen and Robert Christensen.
She is survived by her husband, Larry D. Cox; daughter Christina (Tina) and husband David Clark, Sr., son Richard l. Langley, III; grandchildren Ashley, David, Jr., and Dylan Clark; brothers, Wayland R. Christensen Jr., John E. Christensen, Carl J Christensen and Martin F. Christensen and many nieces, nephews and friends.
