Natividad G. “Joe” Delgado went home to be with the Lord on September18, 2023 after his long battle with Parkinson’s. Natividad was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 27, 1935 to parents Juanita and Andres Delgado.

Joe as he was best known loved his children but when his grandchildren arrived he would often say that you may have messed up raising your children but you get a second chance with your grandchildren.
Joe was blessed to have his oldest granddaughter Jennifer Salazar move in with him to become his caretaker for his last three years of his life.
Joe served in the United States Army for 3 years as a specialist second class. Joe moved his family to Houston in 1966 at the advice of his older brother Felix. Joe settled in the East End of Houston and began his career as a longshoreman at the Port of Houston for over 30 years. He was committed to his job and took pride in being a member of the ILA local 28. Joe enjoyed the sport of boxing and shared his talent by being a boxing coach at the East End Variety Boys Club he had the opportunity to take several fighters to the Golden Gloves. He acquired the name “The Champ”.
Joe’s love for politics landed him a position as precinct judge for precinct 154 where he served for 10 years. Joe enjoyed block walking and meeting residents and encouraging them to always get out to vote. Delivering the votes from his precinct was something he took very serious. Joe had the opportunity to work on several state and local campaigns along the way.
Joe would always tell his children work hard and never forget who helped you along the way. Joe believed we had an obligation to leave the world better than before.
Joe the “Champ” will be missed by his family and friends but never forgotten.
