Mittie M Nichols

Mittie M Nichols, 87, of Houston, Texas, passed away March 25, 2017. She was born in Elmer, Louisiana on March 30, 1929 to Mitchell Lee Martin and Lola Jane Maddox Martin. She was married to Oren Elmer Nichols for 68 years. Mittie was a homemaker for her beloved family. She was a longtime member of Easthaven Baptist Church and had a passion for cooking, sewing, gardening and her great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Mitchell Martin and Lola Martin Perkins; husband, Oren E Nichols; sisters, Willie Mae Martin McKeon, Bonnie Pearl Martin Bennett, Bessie Lee Martin Dickens; brother, James Richard Martin.

She is survived by daughters, Cheryl Russell, Debbie Crawford and husband Ben Crawford; five grandchildren, Chris Russell and wife Melanie, Jeff Russell, Jacob Crawford, Aaron Crawford and wife Tiffany, Evelyn Crawford and fiancé Chris Connally; eight great-grandchildren Leo, Gabriella, Oren, Gabriel, Colt, Nathan, Isaac and Luke; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
