Mary (Nam) Evelyn (Manley) Hunt

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Evelyn Hunt of Houston, Texas, or Evelyn as she was known by all. On Friday, January 21st, 2022 in Lindale, Texas, she was called to her heavenly home in the early morning hours after 78 blessed years. She was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother, fondly known as "Nam". She was born on August 1st, 1943 in Odessa, Texas to Aline Kennedy and Carl Manley, the youngest of five girls.

As an adult, Evelyn spent almost 40 years working side by side her late husband Jerry Hunt, running their family owned and operated car business. When she wasn't keeping her Houston home and business running smoothly, she was taking care of their Port o' Connor home on the bay. Evelyn loved fishing, walking the beaches for exercise and sea shells, and shopping. She never met a stranger with her infectious smile and contagious laugh. Ever the faithful woman, Evelyn had so much wisdom to share and did all she could to live a Godly life doing the things she loved with the people she loved. She leaves behind the most wonderful memories created with her son and grandchildren... memories that will withstand the test of time, only to be told to the next generation and beyond.

Evelyn is survived by her son Scott Long and wife Tracey Long of Houston, Texas; granddaughter Veronica Whited and her husband Matthew Whited of Spring, Texas; grandson Nicholas Long and wife Amanda Long of Pearland, Texas; grandson Zachery Long of Houston, Texas; four beautiful great-grandchildren: Logan, Madelynn, Adam, and Franklin; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, husband, and daughter, Kimberly Sue Duran.

A memorial service for Evelyn will be held Friday, February 4, 2022 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598, followed by a reception from 3:30pm to 5:30pm at her grandson Nicholas's home in Pearland.
