She was born in Gonzales, Texas on March 16, 1928 to Benigno and Luz Rodriquez.
Mary worked as a payroll processor in HR for AARP for several years. Prior to that she worked for Memorial Baptist. She had a passion for her family and a zest for life. She had a strong Catholic faith as a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and had her own unique fashion that included hats and high heels. She often reminisced about supporting the U.S., during WWII, by preparing meals for soldiers, making parachutes, or simply welcoming our troops home. Her most cherished times were weekends spent with her only daughter, Jeannette, having coffee, pastries and shopping.
She is preceded in death by her sister’s Margaret, Hope, and Ruth, her daughter, Jeannette E. Enriquez, her son-in-law, Julio Enriquez and her grandson, Mikey Enriquez. She is survived by her beloved sons George (Norma) and Michael Chavez and sister Linda Baldit. She was a precious Momo to many grandchildren: Lisa Keener (David), Jesse Sanchez, Jr (fiancé Lisa G), Rebecca Bordelon (Darin), Carolyn Sanchez, Marilyn Ramirez (Rex), and Michael “Christopher” Chavez. Christopher and Momo shared a very loving and close bond throughout the years.
