Maria R. Trevino passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the age of 71. Born on February 22, 1947 in Del Rio, Texas, Maria was the oldest of 11 children born to Martin and Hermelinda (Correa) Rodriguez. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin Sr. High School in Houston, Texas, and began a career as Administrative Assistant working for Exxon, Atlantic Richfield, St Luke’s Hospital, The Texas Medical Center, and Mercer. As challenging and rewarding as her jobs were in the corporate environment, her #1 priority was always to support her sons in their school and extra-curricular activities. Later, in her retirement years, in addition to travel and shopping for shoes and purses, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren plus card crafting, gardening, and feeding hummingbirds and monarch caterpillars. She also enjoyed socializing and volunteering for many activities in her residential community, BellaVita at Green Tee.
Maria is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Carlos Trevino, and her sons, Reynaldo and Roberto Trevino. Her sisters Neomi (Rey) Perez and Janie (Jesse) Pruneda, and brothers Edward (Anne), Martin (Norma), Rudy (Linda), Joe Louis (Dalia), and Frank (Veronica) Rodriguez. Gina Trevino, Imelda Trevino, and Kathy Herzogenrath. Grandchildren Nicholas Joseph, Sergio Andres, Mateo Carlos, and Giuliana Marie Trevino. And numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Maria was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Castulo and Raymond Rodriguez.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Nicholas J. Trevino, Sergio A. Trevino, Mateo C. Trevino, Eric Rodriguez, Sam Silva, Frank Rodriguez, Adam Perez, and Mike Williams.
Viewing will be held Sunday, November 18 from 4:00-8:00PM with a Rosary beginning at 6:00PM in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home located at 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, Texas. A Celebration of Maria’s Life will be held Monday, November 19 at 3:00PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Immediately following, she will be laid to rest at Forest Park East Cemetery. In remembrance of Maria and her style, guests are invited to wear bright colors to her services.
