Marcia Gale Knapek was born September 11, 1943, to Foy & Mary Aldridge. She was the youngest daughter of three. She is preceded in death by her two sisters: Ruth Bradbury and Grace Pitner. She graduated high school early from Milby High School so that she could help support the family. She worked at various companies over the years: Welfare department, Prudential Insurance, Brown & Root, AMF Tuboscope and the Harris County Auditor’s Office.
She was married to William “Bill” Knapek for 8 years and they had two sons Brian and Chris Knapek. She loved her sons immensely and was very proud of them.
She enjoyed cooking, entertaining guests, fishing, traveling, working in the yard, and playing with her two dogs Bandit and Red Dog “RD”. She loved watching movies and keeping up with the Hollywood Celebrities. She was a big Astros fan and enjoyed watching the Astros play, as did her father.
She battled many health problems throughout her life and lived longer than most doctors thought possible.
Marcia is survived by sons Brian Knapek and Chris Knapek. Daughter-in-laws Azaliah and Brenda Knapek. Grandchildren: Kristal Knapek, Amber Vela, Christian Knapek, Caleb Knapek, Jaxon Knapek, Sophia and Natalie Knapek. Great-grandchildren Izabella Jordan, Alexzander Vela, Matthew Vela, and Grayson Vela, along with her dearest and oldest friend of 69 years Roberta Currington and many more friends and relatives that loved her dearly.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 10 from 11:30-12:30PM in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home located at 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, Texas. A Celebration of Marcia's Life will begin at 12:30PM. Immediately following she will be laid to rest at Forest Park East Cemetery.
