I documented some of my email communication with Larry once he could no longer speak.  Through this horrible disease, God made Larry into the ultimate friend, husband, father, and person.  He was always a good person with a big heart, but these final years were used to mold him into what God wanted him to become. We met a few weeks after the Diagnosis and he told me the following:  On Day 1 we cried, we were angry with God, we cried some more, we felt sorry for ourselves, we cried some more, etc.  On Day 2, I made the decision to accept it and make the best of it.  I decided to be Grateful.  He lived it every day and never looked back.  

•	SURRENDER:  Surrendering has come Easy, yet it's so difficult for most. People want to be in control. If you lay everything at the feet of Christ, then his plan will go into effect. God has a plan for each one of us.  God's plan is perfect.  True faith is surrendering to God. If you do this, I promise you will find peace within the most difficult storms! God will take you places you've never been before, so move out of his way and let him lead!  Life is so good when you put God before everything. I wish I would have learned this at a younger age, but better late than never.

•	PEACE:  As for me, I really am at Peace. I have completely surrendered God. His will be done! Please pray for Sharon. She is such a blessing to all of us. Pray that I am still here and can participate in the cure, but even if not, I know where I'm going.  I continue to find inner peace through this horrible storm. God has touched my heart in so many ways. I have completely submitted myself to His plan, and I have never felt so good!

•	GRATEFUL:  The great thing about having ALS, is that it allows me to focus on God without interruption. Completely submitting myself to his plan!

So sad to see he lost this battle with ALS. He was a fighter and fought a long time for his loving family. Will always remember the swim team /water polo  NSSH memories and how nice of a guy he always was.

From one of many “snow-friends” (😉) he accumulated, Larry was a good dude with a big heart.
Been a while but always in our thoughts.
RIP, my friend, from myself, my family, and the many friends he made through simple interactions, everywhere he went.
We shall see you again, brother.

Sorry to hear of his passing. My favorite memory takes us back to the Cabana Club where he was such a fish! He was such a good swimmer. Prayers for family and friends.

Sharon, our sincerest condolences to you and your boys. We had the pleasure of meeting Larry on our 30th class reunion.  He left quite an impression on me. I thought he was a handsome man with an amazing personality. Someone that matched up  to my high school friend.  I have a fond memory of your husband  and I admire the strength he had. Our deepest sympathy for the family.  Im Laura’s other sister n law.   Syd’s sister.  I adore Laura.  She spoke of Larry all the time and the family.  I know she thought Larry hung the moon for her brother.  While I never really met Larry.  I feel I have through Laura.   I want to express today to the family our love and care in the loss of Larry. Larry was always the epitome of what a father and husband should be.  He was fun to be around quickwitted, always had a joke for you to brighten your day and in the end, he fought harder than anyone believed he could! Rest in peace, my friend. I’m glad I could call you a friend.
