Lamont was born October 25, 1944, the son of Charles E. and Frances (Reichl) White. His father was killed in action during WWII, two months after Lamont was born.
Lamont grew up in Bethlehem, PA having attended Moravian Prep and Liberty High School. He received his Associate's Degree in Business from Lehigh Valley Community College in Schnecksville, PA.
Following in his father's footsteps, he enlisted in the US Air Force in 1963. Staff Sgt. White was the Crew Chief of the C-130 during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in April 1971.
On November 1, 1969, he married Sandra Weyer and they raised three children together. In 1981, they packed up their family and moved from Pennsylvania to Texas. They remained in League City until the untimely death of his beloved Sandy in 2016.
Lamont spent 36 years working as a salesman for both Stasco and FleetPride in the Houston area. He had many friends in the industry along with many loyal customers.
Lamont was a very stern, but loving father. He spent his adult life trying to teach and guide his children in the right direction. When they made a wrong turn, he was there to help soften the blow.
He loved watching old Westerns, anything with Clint Eastwood or John Wayne. He also loved going to the Wings Over Houston Air Show every year with his family.
On November 18, 2017, Lamont married Sixta Aldape in League City, Texas. They soon relocated to Pharr, Texas.
Survivors include wife Sixta, his daughters, Wendy Shoup and husband Mike of Victoria, Texas and Shelly Crow and husband Dwayne of League City, Texas.
Grandchildren, Tommy Kaiser, Jessica Shoup, William West, Jacinta West, Allen West, Christina West, Erica West, Laura Shelby, Brennan Shelby, Shelby Brumley, Charles West, Alexander West and Jeremy West. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren along with Brother Kolin Kiefer of Whitehall, PA, Sisters Kim Kiefer of Bethlehem, PA and Chris Kiefer-Cioffi of Rutland, VT. He is also survived by his sweet and loyal Beagle, Rascal along with many cousins, in-laws and friends.
Preceding him in death are his loving first wife, Sandra, son Bill West, daughter-in-law Marita West, father Charles White, mother Frances Kiefer, stepfather James Kiefer, sister Laura Sparks, brother Pernell Kiefer and grand-daughter Raquel West.
There will be no visiting hours. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 29th at 10 am at Forest Park East Funeral Home, Webster, Texas. Reception will follow, details at service.
