Joe Tejeda was born September 19, 1960, to Jesse Tejeda and Elvira Moreno Sanchez in Galveston, Texas. He moved to Houston, in 1983. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was employed at several dealerships in the Houston area. He was also a Kenpo, Karate and Kung Fu expert, as well as a Kung Fu instructor under Sifu Cupp.
He is preceded in death by his dad Jesse Tejeda; grandparents Ben and Marcelina Moreno; Uncle Don Tejeda; Aunt Anita Gill and daughter Amy Moreno.
Joe is survived by his mother and stepdad Elvira and Mario Sanchez; daughter Tanya Carlile; son Ryan Tejeda; and Uncle John Tejeda. Forever remembered by his siblings brother Darden Tejeda and his wife Cindy Tejeda; sister Renee Bauer and husband Brad Bauer; nephew Blake Bauer; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous cousins.
Joe was a big New England Patriots fan and an even bigger New York Yankees fan. His hobbies included fishing, watching sports, playing pool, attending sporting events, watching live music and practicing his Martial Arts Wahlum Praying Mantis Kung Fu. He was a veteran in the United States Marine Corps and worked his whole life in the steel pipe industry as well as with several auto dealerships across the Houston area.
He believed in God and his country and believed that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior.
The family would also like to acknowledge and thank his closest friends Ricky Glaser, Wallace Cupp, and Evan Lucas. They were more than just friends, they were like brothers.
A Memorial service will be Friday, July 21, 2023 at 10:00am with Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery. Joseph's Urn will be laid to rest following the memorial service at Forest Park East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Yellow Ribbon Fund, or the Waves Project, which helps his fellow veterans.
