John Wesley Johnson (Jay), 75, of Pearland Tx., logged his final flight to meet his Heavenly Father, April 18, 2014. Jay, the loving husband of Evie Marie Johnson, passed at his home after fighting a brave battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 54 1/2 years, Marie. He was a loving father to daughter Darlene Ray of Deer Park, TX. and two sons, Jim Holmes and wife Judy of Texas City, TX and Ray Johnson and wife Claudia of Pearland, TX. He is survived by two brothers from Pearland, TX, Cecil Johnson and wife Charlene, Ronnie Johnson and wife Brenda, and two sisters, Jeannie Lively and husband Harry of Pearland, TX, Becky Murders and husband Carl of Houston, TX. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie F. Johnson and Nora C Payne Johnson and nephew Daniel Wayne Johnson. Jay had a great love of flying, which became apparent at a very early age. He worked as a crop duster for most of his life and spent time as a shrimper, and hot shot driver. Jay loved his family, loved playing with his grandchildren, loved fixing things and helping others. Jay lived life fully with his flying, motorcycle trips across the country, loving Jesus and helping his family, neighbors, and friends. He will be greatly missed! The viewing will be Monday, April 21st from 5-8pm at the Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster, TX and the Services will be held Tuesday April 22nd at 12:30pm. Graveside services to follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, TX.
