John, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was a native Houstonian, graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1952, attended University of Houston, and married Emma Jeanne Ray in 1953. He went to work at F.A. Bogar Furniture Co. until 1982, and then went to work at Precinct 1 as a Harris County Deputy Constable. He retired in 1994 and took up woodwork as a hobby, making many toys for children and furniture for the church. He was a charter member of Epiphany Lutheran, loved the church and worked hard in many positions. He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Blanche and Guy Bogar, his son, Bruce Jenkerson, and Grandson, Philip Landrum. He is survived by his wife Jeanne of 63 years, his sister Jane Bogar, 2 Sons, Guy and wife Joyce, John and wife Teri, 2 Daughters, Jeanne Hazen and husband Gary, Teresa Harris and husband Mike, 6 Grandchildren, Guy Bogar II and wife Regina, Stephen Landrum, Charmaine Jewell, Melissa Robertson, Jennifer Stasny and husband Ryan, Christiana Lawson and husband Jonathan, 10 Great Grandchildren, Chelsi Bogar, Kimberlee Riley and husband Justus, Layla, Khloe, Chad, and Presley Robertson, Jackson and William Landrum, Rylan and Reese Stasny, 1 Great Grandson, Caiden Bogar, and many lifelong Christian friends who he dearly loved.
Visitation will be held at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 5515 Broadway St, Pearland, TX 77581 in Pearland, TX on Saturday July 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598 at 2:00 p.m.
