He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Thelma Dunn, and his sister, Juanita Hathaway.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Glenda Dunn, his son, Phillip Dunn, daughter, Shelley Steckert and husband Billy, daughter, Terri Rogers and husband Louis, brother George Dunn and wife Cindy, numerous grandkids, and a handful of great-grandchildren.
Jerry was born December 29, 1943, in Childersburg, Alabama. His family moved to La Porte, Texas, where he made many dear friends, before moving to Deer Park, Texas, where he graduated high school with several more dear friends. After a semester of college, the US had struggles with Cuba, so he decided to serve his country and enlisted in the Air Force, where he made even more dear friends. He was stationed at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City when he met Glenda. They were married on March 3, 1965, and moved to Texas after he was discharged. He made more dear friends working 41 years as a chemical lab technician around the Pasadena area, where he raised his three children.
If he wasn't at the bowling alley, you would probably find him playing his guitar and singing with his wife, "Red", at a bar-b-q or a shrimp fry, surrounded by even more dear friends. He retired to the water in Seabrook, Texas, where he loved to fish, sit on the porch with his dog, Sooner, and ride his motorcycle.
A visitation and reception for Jerry will be held Monday, April 10, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm; funeral to start at 2:00 pm with a committal to follow. All services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas. Pastor Cary Todd will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Aggieland Humane Society. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the Dunn family.
