James Blank was born in Texas City, TX to Warner and Lena Blank on November 25th, 1956. James was a lifelong resident of Galveston County, and attended Clear Creek High School where he graduated class of 1975. He married Susan Mines on December 12th, 1981 with whom he shared the joy of raising their daughter, Kelly. James retired in 2018 from Dow Chemical Deer Park, formerly Rohm & Haas, where he was employed for 28 years. He was a lifelong member and supporter of the Pipefitters Local Union 211.
James was an adoring husband and father, a caring and compassionate brother, family member and friend. He was a lifelong athlete and avid sports fan. Go ‘stros! James found happiness throughout life in traveling and date nights with his wife. In retirement James found a new passion in learning to golf with his daughter as well as rekindled his love of fishing with his son-in-law and with his best friend.
James is preceded in death by his brother, Warner Blank Jr, his father, Warner Blank and mother, Lena Blank.
James is survived by his wife, Susan Blank, his daughter Kelly Muecke and her husband Mathew Muecke, his stepson, Craig Mines, as well as his sisters, Delores Farroux and Dorothy Wilson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 7th from 4:00-8:00pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 8th at 10:00AM at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Burial will follow on site at Forest Park East Cemetery.
