Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Friend, Jackie Blanchard, passed away peacefully on April 9th, 2015. Born only weighing 2.5 pounds in Hugo, Oklahoma, Jackie was a fighter then and lived her life that way. Jackie will be remembered for those sparkling green eyes and tender compassion but also as a force to be reckoned with, her strong will, quick wit and humor, her love of politics and football, but not to forget her “tell it like it is” personality that all who knew her grew to love and at times fear. Jackie met and married George F. Blanchard Jr. while working at General Dynamics in Fort Worth, but soon moved to Houston during the early space rush of the 1960s and raised 3 children in Clear Lake City, Texas. Jackie retired after a 40 plus year career in Aerospace from Lockheed Martin in 2001. Not one to stay home, Jackie returned to Lockheed part time as a relief receptionist in the main building so she could “see” everyone until her stroke in 2013. Known by her children as Momma, “My Beautiful Mother”, Momma Jackie, and affectionately called Ole Lady by her son Ricky, Jackie leaves a hole in our hearts that will never be filled until we meet again. Jackie is survived by 3 children Vanessa Blanchard, George (Ricky) Blanchard, and Elissa Watson; ex son-in-law Charlie Radovich; 2 beautiful granddaughters Stephanie and Kathryne Watson; and 3 great-grandchildren who she was so proud to get to know, Jacob, Evalyn, and Jamie. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 9th, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home.
