George was born in Galveston and raised in Kemah to Von and Zona Bailey on March 3, 1942. George was the 6th of 7th children. He played football and basketball while attending and graduating from Clear Creek High School. After graduation George attended college in Victoria, TX and Mortuary School. As a young man he was drafted into the Navy and serving as a Medic. Over time completing his civil duties as a Vietnam Veteran. He found employment at GAF/ISP where he dedicated his time and hard work for 40+ as a Plant Operator.
Throughout his life, George had enjoyed many fishing, hunting, coaching his son’s sports teams when they were younger and spending as much time with his grandchildren as he could. George was dedicated to his family and faith, always putting his loved ones first.
George married Sue on September 15, 1971, together they had 2 children, 3 Grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his wife Sue Bailey, two children, Ray Black (Cori Delgado), Matt Bailey (Jessika Jaramillo). 2 Granddaughters, Shelby Black, Emy Bailey, 1 Grandson

He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Sisters Lavonne Porter, Patty Walker, Brothers Albert Bailey, Frank Bailey.
George Bailey was a man you could always count on, someone everyone loved. We lost a piece of our hearts that can never be replaced. We are now left with memories that were created throughout our years of time that we had with this amazing man. Our hearts are heavy from losing such a special person, we mourn his death but also celebrate his life.
A celebration of life for George will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
