It is with great sadness the family of Genevieve (Genny) Curry Dickerson, 90, of Seabrook, Texas, announces her passing on December 4, 2019. Genny was born and raised in Seabrook to Adolf and Genevieve Curry on October 19, 1929. A graduate of Webster High School, class of 1946, she had a great love for learning and was an active, accomplished participant in the student body throughout her school years. After graduation she moved to Houston and worked downtown enjoying all the big city had to offer until 1950, when she married her beloved Lloyd William (Bill) Dickerson. The two were happily married 56 years, settled in Seabrook and raised four wonderful children.
As an artistic and accomplished seamstress, with a love for cooking, she built their house into a home. Her talent for gardening was unmistakable. She transformed her backyard into a picturesque space for family to gather and she would often be found reading among her flowers listening to the birds.
Genny was a radiant force of nature, she loved splendor and lived life through the lens of creating beauty throughout her years. She had an infectious joyfulness and wit. Generously, she shared her kindness with family, friends, church and those in need. Genny was a determined, strong individual with an originality that set her apart. She was an active church and community member who gave her energy and imagination tirelessly, leaving her adored hometown a better place.
Her love and devotion to the word of God never faltered. She can now say, “I fought the good fight, I finished the race, and I remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me - the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing” 2 Timothy 4:7-8 NLT.
Genny will be greatly missed by her children, and their families: Martha & Doug Foster, Genevieve & Dennis McClain, Billie Jo and Butch Fifield, and Craig & Pam Dickerson. She loved and took great pride in her grandchildren, Natalie Moncada, John and Blake Fifield, Genevieve Lynch, Todd and Johanna McClain, Brooke Foster, Brian and Kevin Dickerson and Rachel Puckett. Her great grandchildren, Levi, Anna and Jessa Sutton, Eleanor Darwiche, Rosie, Betty and Annabelle McClain, Ava and Kyla Moncada, Amelia Fifield, Kylar Martin, Arya Dickerson, Hayes, Cal, and Lucy Dickerson. She will forever be in our hearts. How blessed we were to have known her, to call her our own, we are honored.
