On February 11, 2021, Genaro Flores Carrillo of Houston, Texas, went home to be with his Lord at the age of 78. Genaro was born on September 19, 1942 in Genoa, Texas to Juan Salcedo Carrillo and Ynez Lozano Florez. In the summer of 1962, Genaro met his wife-to-be, Concepcion “Connie” Mesa Casas, at the Pasadena Rodeo Fairgrounds. After marrying in 1963, they remained inseparable for over 57 years. He was blessed with two sons, Genaro and Roger, five grandsons, Robert, Genaro III, Christian, Air Force Staff Sergeant Abraham and Devon, two beautiful granddaughters, Miranda and Jessica, and five great grandchildren, Genaro IV, Patrick, Olivia, Lorraine and Allen. Genaro loved his brothers, Ezequiel, Alex and Johnny, and his sisters, Sarah, Ella and Irene. He is reunited and rejoicing with his parents and brother Julian in Heaven.
Genaro always took pride in a job well done, and had a passion for building and creating new things. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed playing golf, going to the beach, and taking family vacations. He appreciated a good joke, and always had a smile on his face. His favorite place to visit was Yosemite National Park, where he fell in love with the giant Sequoia trees. Genaro’s love for Jesus Christ had a significant impact on his outlook on life. He always put others before himself, and he had both an inner strength and calmness about him that would bring peace to everyone’s hearts and minds.
Our family is privileged to have you participate with us in honoring Genaro’s beautiful and fulfilling life. He was the spiritual anchor of our family, and we will forever cherish his strength, humility, and servitude in God. Today, as we grieve, we are comforted in knowing that God has guided his beautiful soul back home.
We miss and love you, Genaro - loving husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, and brother.
Till we meet again.
