Gayle Diane Iorii Yoder, 78, of Taylor Lake Village, Texas, passed away January 7, 2016. She was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin on June 17, 1937 to “Whitey” and Mildred Weiss Doering, and was later adopted as a child by the widow Mildred Weiss’s third husband, Anthony Iorii. She was married to John Franklin Yoder for 58 years. Mrs. Yoder had a career in aerospace engineering (TRW, and Rockwell International), and served for 33 years on the Board of Directors of the Clear Lake City Water Authority. She was a member of the National Management Association (NMA), and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). An avid animal lover, she had a passion for reading fiction, especially English mystery novels, and for community service, especially advocacy of wildlife preservation. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Weiss Roy; her father, Anthony Iorii; her grandfather, Adolph Weiss; and her grandmother, Wilhelmina Schmidt Weiss. She is survived by her husband, John Franklin Yoder of Taylor Lake Village; her son, Michael Stephen Yoder of Conway, Arkansas; and her sister, Dawn Iorii Archibald of State College, Pennsylvania.
