Etta M. Wallace Steward (Mema), born July 23, 1922, near Sand Springs, OK, died Saturday, August 4, 2012, in Pasadena, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Goldie Belle Hamilton and Guilford Marrs, three sisters and daughter Nancy Ann Cox. She is survived by her children Lewis Eden and wife JoAn of Corinth, Texas, and Tonya Morgan of Houston, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren ; 4 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In December, 1939, Etta married Lewis Odell Eden. That union produced Etta’s three children. She married Hurshel Wallace in 1955 and that union lasted until his death January, 1976. Etta married James (Jim) Steward in 1978, who died January, 2012. Etta was a member of South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena for over 50 years. The three years she spent in Corinth she was a member of First Baptist Church, Denton, Texas. She was very active in the Pasadena area delivering Meals on Wheels, served as Queen Mother in the Red Hat Society , and President of the Pasadena Reading Club, and was always active in her church. Visitation will be Friday evening, from 6-8 PM, August 10, 2012, at Forest Park East, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Tx, with Funeral Services at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning, August 11, 2012, at Forest Park East, followed by a graveside ceremony.
