She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 19, 1933 to Pedro and Elisa Ramirez. She met Roy Sanchez Jr. in intermediate school and the two came together and were married for 66 years and had four children.
Elvia had a career in retail with Foley’s and later Macy’s for many years before retirement. She had a passion for art & crafts, sewing, making jewelry, dining out with friends and family, traveling the county with Roy in their RV—especially to Disney World; and a great love for small dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Cynthia Sanchez, and three brothers Henry Ramirez, Richard Ramirez, and Pete Ramirez.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Sanchez, Jr; three children Roy (Maria) Sanchez, Elizabeth (Jack) Andrus, Ronnie (Leticia) Sanchez; 10 grandchildren Michelle, Austen, Brandon, Blake, Ronni Michelle, Marcus, Jamie, Candelisa, Cynthia and Bianca;16 great grandchildren Mary Grace, Aiden, Apple, Sunday, Shalom, Levi, Finn, Gracen, Dylan, Jailin, Jacquelyn, Allie, Gavin, Marc, Aliana, and Robbie.
A visitation for Elvia will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM. Burial will conclude in Forest Park East Cemetery.
