Elizabeth Ann Gonzalez, age 75, of Pasadena, Texas passed away on May 12, 2020. She was born in Toledo, Oregon to Freeman Hylas Rathbun and Myrtle Elizabeth (Wells) Rathbun on October 14, 1944. Elizabeth had early ambitions to become a nurse. She attended San Jacinto Junior College . In the 1970's, Elizabeth was one of the first four females certified in the State of Texas as a Medical Technician, as well as one of the first Certified Emergency Managers. While working for the City of Pasadena , she was most proud of the role she played in the development of "Wally Wise" shelter in place mascot whose role expanded world wide. Some of her favorite music included "Moon River", "Rhapsody In Blue", "Amazing Grace" and "One Day At A Time". Her favorite color was blue. She enjoyed stained and her glass work. Some of her other past times was reading, her crafts and being with family.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Freeman Hylas and Myrtle Elizabth (Wells) Rathbun and brother, Daniel DeLaney Rathbun.
She is survived by her husband, Reynaldo Gonzalez and her sister Janie Smith. Her children, Larry Dee Soles, wife-Susan Soles,Tamar Ann (Soles) McMillan with husband Richard , Christopher Allen Soles, wife Michelle Martinez, Carmen Gonzalez, Marcia Reyna and Irene LaRee Delgado, Elizabeth's grandchildren, Holly Renee (McMillan) Martinez, Kathryn Elizabeth Jane Soles, William Conrad McMillan, Ashley (Reyna) Winters, Emile Elizabeth (Soles) Brewer, Mary Danielle Soles, Richard Delgado and Nicholas Delgado as well as great grandchildren, James, Koltin, Tyler, Christopher, Xvander and JR.
Funeral service to celebrate the life of Elizabeth Ann Gonzalez will be held 5:oo pm on Sunday, June 14 at Forest Park East Funeral Home - Webster, Texas. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Forest Park Lawndale on a later date.
