Eddie was raised in the province of Aklan in the Philippine Islands. He was the youngest of 9 children. He became a merchant marine and left the Philippines in pursuit of coming to America. He traveled many countries and finally ended up in the United States where he met the love of his life, Dorothy. He worked as a consultant technician for Amoco Chemical Company in Chocolate Bayou where he retired after 20 years. His final and most rewarding job was with his wife, Dorothy, taking care of their 5 grandchildren. Every morning he would wait impatiently at the door for his grandchildren to be dropped off.
Eddie enjoyed to be outside doing something around the house. Whether it be mowing the yard, power washing the house, sweeping the porch, washing the car, or sitting under the tree at his "little house", he enjoyed it all! He loved to watch boxing especially with his children and grandchildren. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren.
Eddie was a man of faith and loved the Lord. He put his trust in Him always and prayed regularly, morning and night. He and his wife instilled the importance of a strong faith in their children and grandchildren.
Eddie is preceded in death by is parents, Eliserio and Valeriana Bagat, 7 of his older siblings, and his beloved wife, Dorothy, of 53 years.
He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Sharon Nguyen and husband Michael, his daughter, Karen Vuong and husband Kevin, grandchildren Kaitlyn “Einstein”, Nathan “Math”, Kaden “Boy”, Kayla “Pinay”, and Kylie “Kookie”, his older sister, Monica Awa-ao, and many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and inlaws.
