Donald Phillip Welch was born on December 24, 1960, in Texas City, Texas to Don and Martha Welch. He attended Texas City schools and completed his college degree at Texas A&M. Phillip was a proud alumni always wearing maroon and rooting for the Aggies.
Phillip worked at NASA for 32 years. During that time he was involved with various projects including the space shuttle and most recently, the Orion project. He was passionate about his career and very proud to be involved in the space program.
Phillip is survived by his wife Susan, daughter Tamarah (Pedro), sons Aaron and Andrew (Victoria), step daughter Abbie (Robert), brothers Scott (Deborah) and Steven (Stacey), six grandchildren, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Phillip’s memory to Mem1, Texas A&M, or a charity of your choice. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and a funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. All services will be held at MEM1 - Memorial Lutheran and First Presbyterian Hybrid Church, located at 2021 29th St North, Texas City, TX 77590. Burial in Reed Family Cemetery in Rogers, TX.
