Domingo Raul Rubio Sr., 82, of Dickinson, passed away on December 17, 2024. Born on June 21, 1942, in El Campo, Texas, he was a devoted husband of 58 years to Eufemia Vega, and a loving father to Domingo R. Rubio Jr., Juan Rubio, and Josie Martinez.
Dad retired from the City of Friendswood where he worked for over 30 years. Despite his many responsibilities as a supervisor, he always had time for his family. He instilled his work ethic in his children and was an example of a devoted employee and father.
His hobbies and interests helped define who my daddy was. He enjoyed gambling, gardening, collecting junk, listening to corridos, and road trips, especially to Louisiana and Oklahoma.
He loved eating watermelon, Taylor Wieners, summer sausage, and BBQ with crackers. Dad was a proud Aggie Grandpa. He enjoyed watching Aggie football with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Eufemia V. Rubio; son, Domingo R. Rubio Jr.; daughter, Josie, her husband, Roberto Martinez; grandson, Damien Betancourt; granddaughters, Anna Rubio and Rebecca, her husband, Alex Dumont; great-grandchildren, Amaya Medina, Samuel Esparza Jr., and Waylon Dumont; and many friends and extended family who will miss him dearly.
Domingo is preceded in death by his son, Juan Rubio; his parents, Pedro and Julia Rubio; his brother, Primitivo Rubio, and his three sisters, Delma Sanchez, Tomasa Meza, and Ramona Alvarado.
