Denise Beard

Loving wife and mother, Denise Laverne Beard (Askew), 55, of Friendswood, Texas passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Denise was born on February 20, 1960 in Houston, Texas to parents Charles and Janice Askew. She married her soulmate, Thomas Beard, on September 15, 1979.

On May 20, 1981, Denise and Thomas were blessed with the birth of their beautiful daughter Amber Nicole. Denise was a woman of great humor, with a talent for making others laugh. She loved decorating her home, landscaping her yard, and entertaining family and friends. Denise was a generous soul. She spent many years caring for children in her Sagemont home, and, she continued her calling for caregiving by founding Home Helpers of Bay Area, providing care to the elderly. Denise loved God with all her heart and was a member of The Church Triumphant in Pasadena, Texas. Denise is survived by her devoted husband Thomas Beard, daughter Amber Beard, sister Malinda Garcia (Alex), brother Greg Askew (Dawn), and mother Janice Wheeler and step-father Carl Wheeler, and loving aunt and uncle Linda “Nanny” and James McDougald. She was the self-proclaimed favorite aunt of her numerous nieces and nephews. Denise is preceded in death by her father, Charles Askew, and half-sister, Rhonda Ayala.
