I met Demetrio my freshman year of high school and from the first day I met Demetrio alongside  Elian and Daniel also known as the “trio” I knew they were going to be with me through all of high school. I had never met someone as funny as him. He was the kind of friend that would see you having a rough day but make the funniest joke ever you’d forget all about the bad. Demetrio was in my 15 and him and his 2 bestfriends made it all so fun. I think they were more excited than anyone for this party considering all our dance practices we had at my house in the mornings and nights. Some of the best memories of my teenage years. 

Dear Cristell and Chuy we are so sorry for your loss. Prayers for you beautiful family may God bring you peace and comfort in the days to come 🙏🙏

My son Derek Elizondo and our family shared great moments during the basketball games at Miller Intermediate, where our boys played in the team together. After that, I had the pleasure of meeting Demetrio at CTHS since I am part of this great school family. My family and son are very saddened. Demetrio is now in God's Kingdom, sharing his great personality.

This is Demetrio. I always looked forward to having him, nd his brothers with me on holidays. This is what we would do together in the holidays, just be fun, wild, nd especially just be ourselves. I will always remember these moments.

Our greatest condolences from the Villanueva family to the Torres family. We are so very blessed & grateful to say we got the chance to watch Demetrio grow up into the kind and caring man he was and will remain being in our hearts. From him loving to watch The Brave Little Toaster when we would all hang out while we were younger to the times we were so grown while he was in high school and we would all still play hide n seek in the dark outside before he left for service. Memories and memories we hold that we will never forget and forever cherrish. Fly high sweet boy 🤍

I remember the time that he, Daniel, and Elian attended a performance of Reckless at Sam Rayburn High during junior year. It was an unexpected visitation due to it being so long since we went to D.C. together back in 8th grade. Seeing them in the audience just brought a smile to my face. Yet, like many of us, I didn't expect it to be the last time I saw him. 

However, I did manage to get in contact with him during the summer. He was in the National Guard at the time. However, it didn't feel like we were at a distance, it felt as if we were at Miller again when we were catching up. I'm going to miss him so much. But, there may be a chance that we may cross paths again. Somehow, someday, somewhere.

Demetrio Torres was and is the love of my life. Nothing will ever change that. He truly made me the happiest girl in the world, we clicked so fast as if we were meant to be. So one day, I had made it very clear to him that he’s stuck with me forever and I intend to continue my promise to him. Nobody could ever replace him. My heart feels heavy knowing that I’ve lost my soulmate. The one person whom I talk to the most and everyday, it simply just doesn’t feel real. He fully accepted me for who I am and still loved me even with my flaws, he thought I was perfect in his beautiful hazel eyes and for that I’m grateful. He has shown me what love is. My beibi was sweet, caring, always saw the good in people, never failed to make me and others laugh, he was thoughtful, compassionate, and most of all he was never afraid to be himself. We’ve only been together for 3 years and 7 months but it sure did feel like a lifetime enjoying every single bit of it that we could, considering half of it we endured long distance, but we both agreed that it only made our relationship stronger. I will always have those memories close to my heart beibi. I will never stop thinking of you. I wish I could hold and admire your face one last time like I always did. 

I had the pleasure of meeting Demetrio in middle school. We were in the same class in 6th grade, and he was the smartest kid in class. Any time the teachers gave out extra credit opportunities, he did them. Although we went to different intermediate schools, I was delighted to see our paths cross again in high school. Participating in AP classes, being part of the National Honor Society, being part of the Key Club, and receiving Academic Awards, Demetrio was still the same smart kid that I had known in middle school. I can still see him rolling down the high school hallways in his Heelys!... or coming to school in his Spiderman costume :). Of course, I can't forget our time in our Academic Decathlon class. I sat in the same table as Daniel, Elian, and Demetrio and that was the most fun I've had in a class ever. Demetrio touched the hearts of everyone around him with his charisma, humor, and kindness. He was always in high spirits and radiated positive energy. My heart aches to see him gone so soon. I'm honored to have had him as a friend.  He will be missed. I send my condolences to his family and friends. 

Fly high baby. You will be Ann amazing soldier up in heaven. We love you and will be missed tremendously. 

Nuestra ultima foto mi nietecito adorado. Descanza en paz hijo de mi alma. Te queremos mucho. Tus abuelos que tanto te aman.  Te vamos a extrañar pero se que estaremos juntos de nuevo. 

You were the funniest, nicest, most energetic person I knew. You always had a way to light up the room with your smile and laugh no matter what was going  on.  You are the coolest cat, i’m going to miss all the game sessions, vacations, workouts, fast food runs, and HEB runs. You made everything so fun just being with you. We love you. 

Nuestro más sentido pésame por la partida de Demetrio, que Dios lo reciba en su reino, rogamos por su eterno descanso. Que el Señor sea su roca, su refugio, su consuelo desde hoy el vive en sus corazones. Los abrazamos con nuestro corazón.  Gilberto López y familia.

Words cannot express the amount of pain my heart feels... Devastating to hear that you're gone. Will forever cherish our late night talks about life, working with you as a lifeguard, and you in general. Your chaotic energy is what made you so lively. Always good vibes to be around. You've helped me in the past with getting through life. Having a different view and input to the smallest things while still being open-minded. I miss you like crazy man.
