Christa Ann Shelley

Christa was born in Whitewright, Texas on September 24, 1962 to Elston R. Shelley and Lois McCollom-Shelley. It has been said that she was born in the front yard of the home she lived in. She was the baby of a family of 5 and her mother did not make it to the hospital.

She was married to Richard Whitt for 29 years.

Christa worked for Sugar Land Cancer Center as unit secretary, but her passion was the support team for Breast Cancer Ladies that she headed up, for the ladies to have a place to talk and uplift each other during tough times of treatments. She was happy to be a part of this group of women to let them know that there was someone out there to help you through the toughest of days. When you felt like giving up, she and the ladies would be there no matter what. To encourage you to keep going. She also loved to watch the older TV shows, Andy Griffith show, anything in black/white, older movies like Gone With the Wind. Christa loved to go bowling, roller blade, and visiting towns to look at the historical buildings to see how it was back then. Richard took her to Savannah, Georgia to see Jim Williams house, other old historic houses, parks, rode around the town just because she liked the movie: Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil, and wanted to see the town for herself. The beach/water was her favorite place to visit. She would ride her golf cart down to the water in Kemah just to hear and watch Richard fish and observe the sailboats going in and out to the bay. Christa liked Tinker Bell “All it takes is Faith, Trust and PIXIE DUST.” Also, I do not have an ATTITUDE problem I just have a PERSONALITY you cannot handle.

Christa was preceded in death by Tyler Trahan (grandson), Vickie Shelley-McClure (sister), Christina McClure (niece).

Christa is survived by her husband Richard Whitt, stepson Billy Whitt (Miranda), daughter Amanda Trahan, sister Sherry Ball, sister-in-law Carole Day, sister-in-law Cynthia Adair (David), sister-in-law Krista Wood (Lewis), brother-in-law Rick Mcclure (Becky) (she told people he is her Dad), Christa’s grandchildren; MaKayla Trahan, Natalia Whitt Christa’s nephew/nieces; Richard McClure (Silvia), Russell McClure, Shannon McClure, Jennifer Kolbesinsai (Stephen, McKenna)

A visitation for Christa will be held Monday, February 13, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. A visitation will occur Tuesday, February 14, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 2:00 PM, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. A committal service will occur Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 3:30 PM at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598.
