Cheryl Lou Simpson

February 18, 1944 – September 25, 2023

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Cheryl (Twinkle) Simpson, who left this world on September 25, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 79 years old.

Cheryl was born on February 18, 1944 in Houston, TX to John Kressley and Kay Kressley. She was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Cheryl was a woman of great strength, wisdom, and compassion. Her unconditional love and unwavering support were the cornerstones of our family. She dedicated her life to nurturing and guiding us with boundless patience and grace. Her quiet strength and fierce loyalty to her loved ones is her legacy.

Her delicious meals, warm hugs, and love were the foundation of our family's happiness. She was our greatest cheerleader, always encouraging us to reach for our dreams and embrace life's challenges with courage.

Cheryl had a passion for singing, which she shared with all of us. Her singing started in her early life when she would sing for the military men at Ellington Field. She would be seated on top of a grand piano and would receive a standing ovation each time she performed. She was also a regular on the Don Mahoney and Jeanna Clare show and the Red Foley TV show. Her beautiful voice was just one of her many talents. She had the ability to make you “feel” her music.

Cheryl loved her family and lived to support each and every member. She was known for her delicious pecan pie, carrot cake and potato salad. No family function was complete without her delicious dishes.

Cheryl Simpson is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bruce Simpson. Her children Tracey Simpson and Angie Smith. Her grandchildren, Layne Simpson, Lyndin Simpson, Luke Simpson, Brett Smith and Kyle Smith. Her siblings, Judy Smith (husband, Pepper Smith), Skippy Kressley (wife, Janet Kressley) and Debbie Fourman (husband, Jerry Fourman) who will carry her memory in their hearts forever. She is also survived by countless nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was reunited in heaven with her beloved son, Jeffrey Simpson, and parents, John and Kay Kressley.

A celebration of Cheryl Simpson's life will take place on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Forest Park East, Webster. We invite friends and family to join us in remembering the extraordinary woman she was and to share stories that capture the essence of her beautiful soul.

As we bid farewell to our beloved wife and mother, we find solace in knowing that her love and wisdom will continue to guide us, and her memory will live on in the lives she touched. Though she may be physically gone, her spirit will forever be a source of light and inspiration.

Rest in peace. You will always be loved, cherished, and deeply missed.
