Born in Beaumont, Texas on August 7, 1935, Byron Clyde Teer Jr., age 75, passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother Bessie Lee Warren Teer, father Byron Clyde Teer Sr., sister Mary Marguerite Teer Graw and friend and cousin Lucy Goodson Hebert. He is survived by his daughters Janice Teer Stone and husband Tommy and Jennifer Kerckhoff and husband Victor. Grandchildren Victor and Abigail Kerckhoff, nieces Stephanie Graw and Ramona Drost and son Dustin.
He grew up in Beaumont and under the influence of his brother-in-law, Lou Graw became a drummer playing his way through Beaumont High School and Lamar University where he was Sigma Nu. His military service was spent in Germany playing drums in the 7th Army band. He retired from Exxon after 33 years of service wearing many hats from draftsman, to drilling superintendent in Alaska and the South China Sea to landman in Texas.
He retired to Bayou Vista where he attended Faith Community Church. He enjoyed his many friends and gathering with the breakfast club before making rounds in Galveston looking for treasures to add to his collection.
He was a very generous creative person gifted in art, music and poetry. Known for his original humor, he loved books, movies, singing and his girls. With a strong foundation of faith and extremely close connection to his parents he looked forward to the day when they would all be together again. He was one of a kind and will be missed by all.
Visitation for Byron Clyde Teer, Jr., will be Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 10:30am. Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 12:30pm, at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
