Bonnie Ruth Thompson

Born to Lillie Mae Woods Rogers and Walter Earl Rogers, Sr. in Humble, Texas on September 22, 1927. She left this earth in Pasadena, Texas, to be with Christ Jesus in heaven on October 11, 2017.

She is survived by her older brother Walter Rogers Jr and wife Elizabeth of Conroe TX, Sister in-law Betty McDougald of Houston TX. Her five children: Linda and husband Richard Meier of Pasadena TX, Roger and wife Mary Sue Thompson of Jarrell TX, Carl and wife Linda Lee Thompson of Portland OR, William and wife Beth Thompson of Pasadena TX, Marilyn and Husband Tommy Shelton of Georgetown TX. As well as 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, many nephews, nieces and cherished extended family.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and step-father Carl McDougald, her husband Frank Thompson, and brothers Buck McDougald, Joe McDougald, and Jimmy McDougald.

She met and fell in love with Frank Thompson in Houston TX. They married on April 11, 1945, and were married for 63 years before Frank passed away.

Bonnie worked in the insurance industry for 33 years before retiring as a fully accredited agent. Bonnie loved her Lord Jesus Christ, her family, gardening and was an avid sports fan. In her retirement those were her passions.

Bonnie was an active member of South Ave. Baptist Church for over thirty years. Those that knew her well spoke often of her beautiful smile, warm hugs, and loving personality.

The family will receive friends Monday October 16, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at South Avenue Baptist Church 605 Preston Avenue Pasadena, Texas 77503. Funeral Service to follow at 3:00pm. Interment at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598.
