Bonnie L. Emmerich-Staas passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2011 after a long battle with brain cancer. She was born in Kansas City, MO on November 29, 1947, and moved to the Houston area when she was in her early 20's.
Bonnie is survived by her husband and best friend, Murraye Gordon. She is also survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Smith and husband George, Dawn Nelson and husband Paul, and by her husband's daughter, Kathryn Groce and husband Garrett. Bonnie was blessed with six grandchildren, Kayla and Joey Smith, Ben and Nichole Suljak, and Olivia and Lillian Lovelace. Also surviving are sisters, Connie Stewart and husband Gary, and Malinda Johnson along with 3 nieces and one nephew.
Bonnie worked as an escrow officer at various title insurance companies in Houston and Clear Lake for almost four decades and was well known in local real estate circles. She loved the outdoors, saltwater fishing was her passion, she would sit and watch birds at her backyard feeders for hours at a time, and loved maintaining her beautiful yard and flowers. Bonnie was full of life and will be missed by all.
Her family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 22, 2011 in the Chapel at Forest Park East Funeral Home with interment to follow.
