Bob Rickard

September 17, 1952 – March 23, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Wilson Rickard, who passed away peacefully early Sunday morning at the age of 72. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday March 29, 2025 at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster Texas to celebrate Bob’s life.

Born on September 17, 1952 in Chicago Illinois to Joseph Conway Rickard and Dorothy June Rickard, he grew up in Temple Texas with 4 siblings, Miles, Jan, Martha, and Sarah. Bob was one of the biggest Texas Longhorn fans you’d ever meet. After graduating from Temple High School, he earned his undergraduate at the University of Texas in Austin, followed by his graduate degree from the University of Houston law school. He then began his career as a lawyer in Houston Texas where he developed a passion for Union Law. Bob was a dedicated, hard working lawyer for many years and later found a new career in the car business in Port Arthur Texas where he retired.

His greatest joy in life was his wife, Lucy, whose passing left a hole in his heart that never fully healed. Together, they shared a bond that was the cornerstone of his life. Bob's love for Lucy was evident in every aspect of his life. After her passing, he carried her memory with him, finding solace in the moments they shared and the family they built together.

As a father, Bob was a constant source of guidance, support, and love. He taught his children the values of perseverance, respect, and compassion, and his wisdom will continue to resonate in their hearts forever. He was also a proud grandfather, and his grandchildren brought him immense joy. Bob was a man of few words but deep thought. He had a dry sense of humor, a calm demeanor, and a heart that was as big as the world itself.

Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucy Rickard in 2020, father, Joseph Conway Rickard in 2015, mother Dorothy June Rickard in 2008, and sister Jan in 2009.

He is survived by his daughter, Alicia Young and husband Will, his son, Joseph Rickard and wife Chelsea, his stepson Paul Paris, brother Miles Rickard and wife Charlotte, sister Martha Young and husband Greg, sister Sarah Munro and husband Blaine, and his beloved grandchildren, Robert Wilson, Abby Young, Poppy Rickard, Seth Paris, Paulie Paris, Matthew Young, Maddy Young, and his three loving dogs, Ollie, Sophie, and Gabby.

Bob was a loving father, grandfather, and devoted husband who lived a life of quiet strength, kindness, and love.

Rest in peace, Bob. You will forever be in our hearts.
