Betty Ann Schaefer

Betty Ann Schaefer, 83, of Houston, passed away on April 2, 2021. She was born in Sweet Home, Texas on July 19, 1937 to Frank and Mary Pekar. Betty was the youngest of 11 siblings and loved growing up in the country. Having such a large family, she always had the most interesting stories to tell. She married Norbert in 1957 and they were able to celebrate 62 wonderful years together.

Betty was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went, many of them were just like family to her. Betty was also a devout Catholic who believed in the power of prayer. She loved to cook, kept an immaculate house, was highly skilled with a sewing machine, and enjoyed her weekly outings to the local bowling alley. A farm girl at heart, gardening was also a passion. Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her sons strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. She is a true testament to a life well lived.

Leaving behind to cherish her memory are her sons Gary Schaefer (Gina), Daren Schaefer (Jodie) and many loving Grandchildren Joshua Schaefer (Veronica), Brendan Schaefer, Joseph Schaefer, Jared Threlkeld (Tonya), Lauren Canales (Andy), Devin Schaefer, and Will Schaefer. Great grandchildren Kylie Threlkeld Mason Garabedian, Holly Wall, and Arwen Schaefer. She had many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 11th in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home 4-7pm. (Rosary at 6pm.)Celebration of Life Monday, April 12th at 10am in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home.

Committal Service immediately following then a Reception in the Reflections Room of Forest Park East Funeral Home 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598.

Serving as pallbearers are Joshua Schaefer, Brendan Schaefer, Joseph Schaefer, Devin Schaefer, Jared Threlkeld and Will Schaefer.
