Benjamin Everett Mathewson was born on September 30, 1940 in Houston, Texas. He passed away on May 1, 2011 in Houston, Texas. Benjamin was the president of Fastway Freight Systems, member of Executive Hunting Club, lifetime member of H.L.S and Rodeo, and The 100 club.
He is survived by his wife Sarah J "Cookie" Mathewson, daughter Karen Denise Mathewson, sons Jesse Mathewson and Mike Mathewson and his wife Julie, sister Flo Lowe, grandchildren, Seaira, Lauren, Brett, Sarah Kennedy and husband Jay, Chelsea and Derek, great-grandson Gage Connor, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Benjamin was preceded in death by daughter Dawn Mathewson, sister Doodie and Lanna, brother Richard, and parents Captain and Mrs. J.B. Mathewson.
The family would like to invite friends for visitation on Friday, May 6, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home followed with an interment in Forest Park East Cemetery.
