On February 9, 2022, our Lord and Savior extended his arms and welcomed Barbara (Rogers) Still, 80, of Pasadena, Texas to be with Him and begin her eternal life in Heaven. She is now with her loving husband of 53 years, mother and father who she missed dearly.
She was born October 22, 1941, in Houston, Texas, and resided in Pasadena, Texas for the past 45 years. Barbara, or “Bobbie” as she was known by family and friends, was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt.
She had a brief employment with Aetna many years ago as well as Cole Supply but chose to be a stay-at-home mom and was blessed to have the opportunity. Bobbie took this role seriously and provided everything her family needed and did so with a giving heart. Even when her physical activities became limited, she always persevered and gave it her all without any complaints. She was a pillar of strength like no other.
Her personality could radiate a room with her quick-witted humor as she loved to make others laugh or play the occasional prank on a family member. Bobbie had an overwhelming love of her family and will be remembered for her generous and giving heart who never turned away a family member in need, all the while, never asking anything from anybody. She loved spending time with her family, but her favorite pastime was simply going on Sunday drives with her loving husband. She also loved telling stories of her past and reminiscing of her time in the Scottish Brigade, at Austin High School, where she was Sgt. Of Bagpipe Drums from 1959 – 1960. She particularly enjoyed the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, when the family gathered together, where she and her husband always showed their amazing generosity.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Kimberly Still and Pamela Breckenridge; grandchildren, Stacy Garcia, Megan Breckenridge, Mia Pedroza and husband Jose Pedroza, Taylor Breckenridge and great-granddaughter Kylea Bantin; sisters, Ann Stephens, Linda Gilmore and husband Jerry; countless nieces and nephews and her loving caregivers, Evelyn Williams and Paulette Gonzales, who brought her such love and joy every day.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ross B. Still, Jr.; mother, Mildred Rogers; father, Charles Raymond Rogers; brother, Glynn Rogers; her best friend and sister-in-law, Belinda Nobles.
The family will receive visitors Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster, Texas. The Celebration of Life for Barbara will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022, in the chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Still officiating. There will be a catered service for family and friends after the burial. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the Still family.
