Following childhood relocation to the north country to avoid the horrors of the German blitz, Barbara enjoyed bicycling the English countryside.
In December, 1954, she followed her newlywed husband, Carl, to begin her life in Houston. She remained employed throughout her life with a single firm; ITE Circuit Breaker, Gould, then Asea Brown Boveri.
She was a proper lady, very creative and readily shared her “English” sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.
She is survived by son Joe, his wife, Monica; daughters Linda Sue Nordstrand and Paula Kay Sabrsula; grandchildren Justin S Sabrsula, Kathryn A Sabrsula, Leif Q Nordstrand, Cyrus M Nordstrand and great grandson Miguel S Sabrsula. Additional survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family in the US and Europe.
A visitation will be held Monday, April 7, 2025 from 1 to 2 pm with a funeral service at 2pm and committal to follow. Services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy in Webster, TX.
In lieu of flowers, Barbara would ask that you please consider a philanthropy of your choosing.
