Amanda Elizabeth Withey

Amanda Elizabeth Withey, age 24, of League City, Texas, passed away on February 2, 2016. She was born in Washington, Pennsylvania on March 3, 1991. She joined the home of Jennifer and Paul Withey on January 26, 1995 and was later adopted by the couple in August 2000. She showed love without speaking a word, loved life despite being trapped in a broken body and had a smile that lit up the room.

She is survived by her parents, Jennifer and Paul Withey; siblings, Rodney, Justin, Joseph and Adison; paternal grandparents Alfred and Jeanette Withey (Calgary, Alberta Canada); maternal grandparents G. Keith and Melinda Way (Montgomery, TX) and Gwendolyn Thorn (League City, TX); and great-grandparents Elvie Thorn (Groves, TX), Betty and Robert Smith (Hot Springs Village, AR) and Lila Way (Baton Rouge, LA). She is also survived by the following paternal aunts and uncles: Carol and Joe Schellenberg, Michael Withey, Daniel Withey, Evangeline and Jessie Stevens, Philip and Elizabeth Withey, Mark and Rebecca Withey, Alan and Cheryl Withey, Samuel and Maria Withey, Leanne and Roland Gosse; and maternal aunts and uncles: Marcia Neuman and Randall and Allison Way as well as 20 cousins. In addition, Amanda is survived by numerous extended family members and a large circle of friends who are considered family that have all adopted her into their hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the scholarship fund of Amanda’s favorite camp, Camp 4:13. Mark donations “Camp 4:13 Scholarship Fund” and mail to Arkansas Assemblies of God, 10924 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home. The Celebration of Amanda's Life will be held Friday, February 5, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home with interment to immediately follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
