Weir, Patricia Joan, 86 (nee Robbins) Fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Saturday, June 8, 2013. Loving wife of the late Edward Weir; loving mother of Karen (John) Bausola, Eddie (Peggy) Weir, Danny (Virginia) Weir, Elizabeth (David) Phillips, Bridget (Mike) Barron, Joanie Weir and Patrick (Cyndi) Weir; Loving grandmother of 19 and 2 great-granddaughters; dear sister of Nancy (John) Vergere, Carolyn (Don) Dulin, the late George Robbins and the late Mary Steinbrenner; our dear sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Patricia was born to George and Elizabeth Robbins on July 11, 1926 in Brentwood, Missouri. One of five siblings, she honed her maternal skills at an early age.
Patty met her future husband, Ed, while on a date at a square dance. They married on June 9, 1951 and the rest is history. She had seven children of her own and ran a busy household. In her free time, Patty enjoyed golf, tennis, Medical Missions and entertaining. She loved making mini hamburgers for guests and to take to parties.
Patty's family always came first. She was the consummate hostess, with her dining room looking like something out of a magazine. She went all out decorating for Christmas - the kids were always excited about coming down the stairs on Christmas morning and seeing the fireplace mantle decorated and beautifully wrapped gifts around the tree.
Patty had a great eye for fashion and decorating. One of her favorite hobbies was scouring the antique and thrift shops. She had a knack for finding great deals and quirky treasures, many of which she has shared with her kids and grandkids.
Patty passed on many wonderful traits to her children, but her daughters always lamented that none of them got her beautiful legs
