Terry Joe Fortner

Terry Joe Fortner, age 71, of Waynesville, North Carolina passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, At his residence. Terry was born in Haywood County on January 2, 1953, to the late Edward and Betty Bradley Fortner. Terry enjoyed camping, traveling and watching sports. Most of all, Terry loved spending time with his family. Terry retired from Evergreen Packaging after 19 years of faithful service.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debbi Guy Fortner; and two infant children.

Terry is survived by his son, Joey Fortner; faithful partner, Opal Ingle; sister, Ailene Eavenson; brother, Stanley Fortner (Sandy); several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 10, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with Chaplain Jason Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
