Sylvia Ann Smith

Sylvia Ann Smith, age 71, of Clyde NC, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2020. She was born in Franklin, NC on August 4, 1948. Ann was the loving daughter of the late William Boyd Thompson Sr. and Mable Fern Swafford Thompson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas M. Smith, Odette Buckner (sister) and Josie Martin (sister).

She is survived by her brother, William Boyd Thompson, Jr and her daughters, Melissa Bryson of Charlotte, NC, Stephanie Bryson of Morristown, TN, and Alicia Bryson of Canton, NC. Six grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Christen Crone, Khayla Bryson, Landon Bryson, Adrian Bryson, and Silas Bryson; three great-grandchildren, Avery Sweeney, Kaia Sweeney, and Elias Sweeney; nieces and nephews, Dama Martin, Lakeisha Martin, Sean Buckner, Gabriel Thompson, and Corey Thompson.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and Celebration of Life with the Reverend Keyth Eddings officiating, begins at 2:00 pm at Garrett Funeral Home, 406 North Main Street, Waynesville, NC on Thursday, July 2, 2020.

Ann was loved and adored as a Mother, Wife, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Aunt. She worked as a LPN for over forty years.
