Maggie Valley, NC - Sarah Jane Caldwell Sutton, age 92 passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Maggie Valley Nursing and Rehab. She was born in the Cataloochee Valley on December 20,1928 to the late Thomas and Ella Caldwell.
Sarah was a longtime member of Peachtree United Methodist Church and member of the United Methodist Women. She was a devoted homemaker and avid quilter.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband I.C. Sutton; seven brothers and five sisters.
Left to cherish her memory is her children, Scott (Valerie) Sutton, Harold (Pam) Sutton, Linda Plott, and Phyllis Carver; Sister, Ruby (Bob) Bradley; Sister in Law, Geraldean (Stokey) Caldwell; Ten Grandchildren, Iris Silvers, Julia Plott, Monte Plott, Doug Carver, Timothy Carver, Melody Perry, Javan Sutton, Zach Sutton, Cole Sutton, and Jacob Sutton; Thirteen Great Grandchildren; James Isaac Silvers, Taylor Plott, Caleb Plott, Meghan Boynton, Savannah Boynton, William Sutton, Cline Carver, Aiden Carver, Trent New, Amos Rich, Harper Henderson, and Kendal and Collin Warner; and a host of extended family members.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Peachtree United Methodist Church with Pastor's David Reeves and Jon Snyder officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Peachtree United Methodist Church.
Burial will be held at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peachtree United Methodist Church, 211 Indian Creek Road, Maggie Valley, NC 28751.
