Priscilla Ann Heinig (nee. Hoffman), 86, passed peacefully May 21, 2023, in Asheville NC. She gracefully succumbed to Alzheimer's and its long goodbye.
Priscilla was the daughter of Edward and Sadie Hoffman of Maynard, MA. and graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Chemistry. After college, Priscilla worked for the Foster Grant Corporation where she met her future husband Paul Heinig. They lived in Bolton MA, Chesapeake VA, North Ft. Myers and Clermont FL.
Throughout her life, Priscilla enjoyed many rich, lifelong friendships, particularly her Bolton Lunch Bunch, her neighbors in Virginia and Florida; all who shared time with her will fondly recall her quick, dry wit and her special way with words.
Priscilla had a love of travel, sport and adventure, and had an unfailing loyalty to the New England Patriots. Priscilla fondly remembered her travels to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the Caribbean and many other ports of call around the globe. After the passing of Paul in 2005, training for a climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro was a particular dream that Priscilla finally brought to reality in 2008.
Priscilla met Al Frederick through a golf league in Florida and they were married from 2012 until his passing in 2019. Al was a sweet and loving companion and a great source of happiness to Priscilla in her later years.
A natural storyteller, she is remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her remarkable artistic ability. Her many artworks have pride of place in the family's home.
Priscilla was predeceased by her husband Paul Heinig and son Paul Heinig Jr., and later, her husband Alfred Frederick. Left to cherish her memory, her family includes her daughter Greta, son-in-law Graham Newman of Knoxville TN. and her two grandchildren Bailey and Rebecca Newman.
Priscilla’s family offers heartfelt thanks for the loving and compassionate care Priscilla was provided during her illness while at Arbor Terrace Memory Care in Asheville NC.
