Launa McClure Jones

Waynesville-Launa McClure Jones, 101 passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020, at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab. Launa was born in Haywood County on February 28, 1919, to the late Gaither and Oma Rhinehart McClure. Launa is remembered by her many loyal customers at the Open Air Curb Market where she worked until age 85.

In addition to her parents, Launa was preceded in death by her husband of 78 years, Vee Jones; four brothers and two sisters.

Launa is survived by her son, Samuel Jones (Sandra); granddaughter, Rita Rathbone (Matt); and grandson, Leslie (Jane).

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Rocky Branch Cemetery with the Reverend Jerry Nelson officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be a drop-in visitation from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 10, at Garrett Funerals and Cremations for those wishing to pay their respects and sign the register book. Please note that the family will not be present.
