Joyce Kathleen Weinberg

Joyce was the loving wife of Robert Weinberg and the devoted mother of Deborah Wollner and husband Robert of Waltham, Massachusetts, and Mark Weinberg and wife Erica Krug of Arlington, Virginia and Ashburnham, Massachusetts.

She was born on June 25, 1945 in Danbury, Connecticut, the eldest of Myron and Harriet (Tillman) Widland’s three children.

Joyce and her family moved to Springfield, Massachusetts when she was a year old. She graduated from Classical High School in 1963, then earned her bachelor degree in economics from Brown University in 1967.

Married in 1968, Joyce and Bob were together for almost 54 years. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Illinois, raising their family in Northfield. Joyce was a certified public accountant, and volunteered for several organizations in the education, arts and gardening communities.

In September 2003, Joyce and Bob moved to North Carolina where she was an active volunteer with the Buncombe County Master Gardeners as well as at the North Carolina Arboretum.

Joyce and Bob enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the world sharing numerous adventures and misadventures together.

Joyce was the adoring “Grandma” of Nico Krug Weinberg and Eve Wollner. Joyce is also survived by her sister Gita Haddad and husband David of Waltham, Massachusetts and a brother, Jim Widland of Phoenix, Arizona.
