Waynesville-Jimmy C. Counts, 68, of Waynesville, passed away on December 15, 2014, at his residence. Jimmy was born on January 30, 1946, in Covington, VA, to the late Carlos and Alice Robertson Counts. Jimmy enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and most of all helping others. Jimmy was a plumber and Wildland Firefighter for the US Park Service. He honorably served his country, retiring as a US Navy Seabee, and a Vietnam veteran. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by an infant sister, Misty. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Hooper Counts; a son, Charles Kevin Counts of Waymart, PA; two brothers, Charles Alexander Counts of Covington, VA, and Carlos Jackson Counts of Mexico; and one special nephew, Tommy Hooper of Waynesville. A memorial service celebrating Jimmy’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 28, at Sulphur Springs Freewill Baptist Church with the Reverend Phillip Wyatt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at the residence.
