Jennifer Lynn Beemer, age 50, of Waynesville, N.C. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Jenny was born on March 1, 1972 in Chapel Hill, N.C. She was a lifelong Tar Heel fan. Jenny graduated from Chapel Hill High School in 1990. She was an active member of United Church of Chapel Hill, where she volunteered in the nursery. Jenny was a friend to many, especially her “bench buddies” in her Chapel Hill community. Jenny loved puzzles and games. She especially loved being an aunt to her niece and nephew, Cate and Luke Beemer of Nashville, Tennessee.
Jenny is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Anna Faye and Fred D. Stevenson, and her paternal grandparents, Julia and Gordon G. Beemer.
Left to cherish her memory are her father, Charles "Chuck" Beemer of Waynesville; her mother, Catherine Stevenson Beemer of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; her brother, Jeffrey M. Beemer (Catherine) of Nashville; her stepmother, Nancy D. Beemer of Waynesville, and her stepsister, Carolyn Fountaine of Sandy Springs, Georgia.
The family will gather to receive friends on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Hazelwood Baptist Church in Waynesville from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Tim Lolley will officiate. Burial will be held at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Waynesville immediately following the funeral service. A Celebration of Life in Chapel Hill will be scheduled at a later date.
