Jacqueline Moody Rathbone

Jacqueline Moody Rathbone, age 96, of Waynesville, NC passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Jacqueline was born in Erastus, Jackson County, NC on April 16, 1928, to the late Hyatt and Bertie Childress Moody. Jacqueline enjoyed traveling, including visiting 48 of the 50 states with her late husband, Ralph. She also enjoyed being active in Grandview Baptist Church of which she was a member, growing her rose bushes, and rock collecting. Jacqueline was active in the Eastern Star where she reached the level of Esther.

In addition to her parents, Jacqueline was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Rathbone; and sisters, Bessie Lee, Patsy, Jeane, Betty Jo, Peggy and Karene.

Jacqueline is survived by a son, Larry Rathbone (Doris); daughter, Ralphene Rathbone (Robert Bradley); grandchildren, Jacqueline Christine McDermott, Jeremy Kyle Hinson, and Julia Ann Beam (Martin); and great-grandchildren, Emma Kaye and Annie Rose McDermott, and Marlee Rose Beam.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 9, at Grandview Baptist Church with the Reverend Barry Willett officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
