Dorothy Mae Messer Inman

Dorothy Mae Messer Inman, 90 passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024. Dorothy was born in Haywood County on January 15, 1934, to the late Robert and Mae Phillips Messer. She enjoyed baking, reading, sewing, but most of all Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a very kind hearted and giving person, always putting others before herself. Dorothy was a longtime member of Laurel Grove Baptist Church.

Dorothy worked for 22 years at Springdale Country Club.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Inman; sisters, Elizabeth Riddle and Barbara Warren; brother, Jack Messer; and son-in-law, Johnny Jones.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Diana Ivester (Rick) and Karen Jones; son, Ricky Inman (Mary); grandsons, Jeremy, Jeff, Joe, John David, Jason and Josh; 7 great-grandchildren 10 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Gary Putnam officiating. Burial will follow at Inman Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
