Donna Kaye Haithcock Haithcock Bland

Our sweet Donna , age 57, of 425 Locust Dr., Waynesville, NC passed away Saturday May 28, 2016. She was surrounded by her loving family at the Solace Hospice Center in Asheville, NC. Donna is the daughter of Charles Keith Haithcock and the late Patricia Haithcock of Mt. Gilead, NC. Her sister Wendy Oliver also preceded her in death. Donna was born in Troy, NC on November 28, 1958. She graduated from the American Business and Fashion Institute in Charlotte and attended Sandhills Community College in Southern Pines. Donna was married to Phil Bland on May 22, 1982; they were married for 34 years. Donna was a devoted wife and mother. Donna's love of God, dedication to family, sense of humor, beautiful smile and contagious laugh will never be forgotten. Donna is survived by her husband, Phil Bland; Children: Kristin Richardson and husband Phil Richardson of Murrells Inlet, SC, Katie Bland and Adam Hawkins of Waynesville, Derek Bland and Wesley Bland of Raleigh; sister Kathy Haithcock of Kernersville; grandchildren Hayden Grace Hawkins, Lennon Leigh Hawkins and Miller Rose Richardson, Mother in law Iris Rose Bland, sister and brother in laws Gina Crider, Allen Oliver, Kip Bland, and John Bland, nephews and nieces Austin and Daniel Oliver, Haley, Kendall, and Alexis Banks, and Stana, Katerina, Michael, and Aaron Bland. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 3rd at Long’s Chapel United Methodist Church. 175 Old Clyde Rd., Waynesville, NC 28785. Dr. Chuck Wilson will be officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30-1:30 PM, also at Longs Chapel. Burial will follow the funeral at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park. Following the committal service, the family will gather with friends at the log home in the White Oak community beginning at 4:30 PM.
